Traveling - Reisen

One nice part of traveling more often are the benefits of joining a frequent flyer program. With Cathay Pacific you can join their Marco Polo club and gain entrance, after reaching the required milage or sectors, to the business lounge. This is often a peaceful place and a great time to relax and  catchup with computer work.

Flying back to Germany yesterday the lounge was particularly quiet. The other benefit for the traveling photographer is the extra weight cabin allowance; where you dont really loose sight of you precious camera equipment.

Here are a few shots to show the relaxed atmosphere in the lounge in Hong Kong before the 12 hour flight back home.

Ein angenehmer Teil des häufigen Reisens sind die Vorteile eines Vielfliegerprogramms. Mit Cathay Pacific hat man als Mitglied des Marco Polo Clubs mit entsprechenden Meilen Zutritt zu der Buisness Lounge. In der ruhigen Umgebung kann man herrlich entspannen und auch ein bischen Computerarbeit erledigen.

Auf dem Rückflug nach Deutschland war es gestern besonders ruhig. Ein weiterer großer Vorteil für den reisenden Fotograf ist das zusätzliche Handgepäck, den wer gibt schon gern seine wertvolle Kamera ausser Sichtweite.

Forbidden City in Taiwan-“Verbotene Stadt” in Taiwan

 The Longshan Temple in Lugan is called the "Forbidden City in Taiwan".

The temple is dedicated to Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy.

The temple features exquisite religious wood carvings and colourful paintings.

In this image you can see we are making a record of one of the highly decorated doors.

Der Longshan Tempel in Lugang wird die “Verbotene Stadt von Taiwan“ genannt.

Der Tempel ist Guanyin, dem Gott der Gnade geweiht.

Die Tempelausstattung zeigt feingearbeitete aufwendig gefasste Holzschnitzereien.

Die Aufnahme zeigt die fotografische Dokumentation  einer der reich bemalten Holztüren.

I thought I should post at least one image for the first blog. This is from the God Mazu celebrations in Beigang, Taiwan. Here there are many floats that carry children through the streets throwing sweets to the crowds. There are a few more images on the website.

Dies ist der erste Blog für beckett photography, vieleicht auch der letzte, das hängt ab von der verfügbaren Zeit und der Resonanz auf  diese Neuerung.

Diese ist vom Kinder- Laternenumzug  zu Ehren des Geburtstags des Gottes Mazu in Beigang in Taiwan. Die Kinder fahren in festlich geschmückten Wägen durch die Strassen und werfen den wartenden Zuschauern Süßigkeiten zu.
